Our Mission

The Adam Foundation promotes the identity, strength, and well-being of the local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and supports organizations serving persons living with HIV and AIDS.

The Adam Foundation invests in programs that effectively support its mission. Our primary focus is to provide "alternative funding"....watching out for those issues and individuals that may not always be on the "normal radar screen" for Forsyth County residents.  We honor a legacy of funding projects related to health and HIV/AIDS, but also cover a broader scope of new projects that include educating the public through art performances & special presentations, providing anti- bullying training tools to educators, and supporting a fledgling LGBT "Homeless Youth Coalition".......just to name a few.

At our core, we are a "foundation" and therefore provide funds to projects....to bring life to actions that make a difference in the lives of our local LGBT individuals and the people that care about them.  We are bound by the parameters of a   501(C) (3) tax status.  We do not "lobby", but we do help others network through monthly events .....both LGBT individuals and straight allies.

Since its inception, The Adam Foundation has funded more than 95  projects through grants to more than 40 local organizations. To date, we have awarded more than a quarter-million dollars.
